Here’s a handy, off the cuff guide to escaping Manitoba and going on a tropical, all inclusive, beach vacation.

A rough number, for a 4 star vacation, at a non-peak holiday time starts at $2000 per adult. $1700 for your Air/Hotel package, $200 insurance, $100 gratuities & incidentals like resort fees/tourist card etc.
Peak travel is: American Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter, Spring Break, University Break (2nd week of Feb) Plan for at least $2600 or more per adult for a 4 star vacation with insurance and incidentals.
Think of package vacation travel like buying a vehicle. There is everything from the Chevy Cruise to the Cadillac available. You just have to find the model, the style and the features that suit you. Yes, they are all just “cars” but what comforts/conveniences do you need to be happy and satisfied? Travel is the very same.
My bottom line is this: if the decision comes down to $300 and it’s the difference between being “satisfied” and “happy” choose HAPPY. (Cut out souvenirs or new clothes for the trip to cover the cost if you need to.)
When you feel like you are settling for a car/vacation because you like the price….you will start off on the wrong foot. When you find something you are EXCITED about, you also give yourself the gift of anticipation. Every day you know you have something to look forward to, even if it is 4 months away. Dare I say the hard winter days get easier, when I have something to look forward to and dream about.
Direct flights, from Winnipeg to Varadero, you will leave 9am December 1st and return 7:30pm December 8th. So, this bargain gets top marks from me for convenient flights!
Lastly, before you book ANY vacation, ever, I suggest you read the most recent reviews from Trip Advisor. Having accurate, up to date, first hand information enables you to make the best decision. Price should never be your only deciding factor. A vacation should meet your needs, and provide personal value. That being said, bargains are almost always about the DATES. Go when everyone else is going…. (like school holidays) and you could pay 2-3 times the amount for EXACTLY the same vacation. Go when others are busy and there is far less demand, and you could pay far less for the identical vacation. (Actually, yours could be BETTER. Avoid the crowds and the lineups and have the beach and staff to yourself.)
Prices subject to change, or sell out without notice. Other dates available at higher prices. This bargain was spied at www.itravel2000.com
Under $4000 for a family of 4, will get you a week in a five star Riu Resort in Jamaica! Simply a fabulous deal!
Honestly, I’m happy if I can get Jamaica under $1600 per person. So, for under $1000 per person, I’m hitting the exclamation mark a whole bunch of times!!!!
I was in Jamaica less than a year ago. We stayed in the Montego Bay area. We drove past the Riu to get to our 4 star resort. It sure looked nice. But, I don’t really know. (As always, I urge you to go to Trip Advisor and check out the recent reviews whether you are staying in Regina, Anchorage, Negril or anywhere.)
For this bargain, found through Selloffvacations.com, you have a choice of 3 Riu locations. Montego Bay is the closest to the airport, but Ocho Rios and Negril have more exquisite beaches.
Here’s the screenshot of the total package price, as of March 15th 10pm. I’m not sure how long this price will last. It might be just until it sells out, or it could be one of their 48 hour deals. In any case, it’s a last minute deal, once you book it… grab those passports and start packing!
